Leslie Mihata Bloom
CEO
Leslie Bloom was appointed chief executive of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America’s Arizona Initiative in June 2004. She worked with community leaders to establish a local board of directors dedicated to The Partnership’s mission, and implement research based programs. Ms. Bloom previously served as senior vice president, director of field operations for the national Partnership where she held various positions since 1995. Prior to her work in drug prevention, Ms. Bloom was a news journalist and television anchor and reporter at stations in Phoenix and the state of Oregon. She is a graduate of Oregon State University in Corvallis. Ms. Bloom thanks law enforcement for introducing her to the importance and value of substance abuse prevention.
Shelly Mowrey
Sr. Director, Programs & Communications
Shelly Mowrey has worked with The Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Arizona Affiliate for seven years. She has developed and implemented programs for teens, parents, law enforcement, corrections, the faith-based community and healthcare providers in Arizona. Shelly also coordinates all aspects of public relations and media support for the Affiliate. Shelly has received numerous awards for her work and has received extensive drug prevention training from various federal and local agencies. Shelly is the proud mother of her 9 year old son. Ann McClain
Manager, Administration
Ann McClain began her work for The Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Arizona Affiliate in March 2009.
She has over 18 years of experience as an Executive Assistant both in the public and private sectors.
Her responsibilities with DrugFreeAz.org include the day-to-day administrative operation of the office,
as well as Executive Assistant to the CEO.
Kim Obert
Program Manager
Kim is well acquainted with the pain of substance abuse. Her 18 year old son, Kent died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in 2003. Blindsided by the event, Kim felt a strong desire to help other parents avoid the same pain, and in 2006 began volunteering with the Partnership and helping other parents understand the dangers of substance abuse, especially prescription drug abuse. In July of 2010, Kim joined the staff full time. Kim brings more than 20 years experience in marketing, communications and public relations to DrugFreeAz.org. She is one of the original 3moms. Kim serves on the Parent Advisory Board for the national Partnership at DrugFree.org and is also a Parent Ambassador for the national office. Read about the workshops Kim conducts for DrugFreeAz.org.
