Mr. Garth Stevens
Chair of the Board of Directors
Garth Stevens is the chairman of DrugFreeAz.org. Stevens is a Partner at Snell & Wilmer,
a full-service business law firm serving the Southwest. Stevens has served on the board for the past three years, including in the past year as vice chairman and secretary.
Stevens’ practice at Snell & Wilmer is concentrated in corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and securities law. He represents clients in a variety of industries including high technology products and services, solar energy, biotechnology and genome sciences, industrial products, food products, real estate development and waste management services.
Ms. Shirley Baum
Chair, Parents Club
Shirley Baum is an Associate General Counsel of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation and its primary subsidiary, Arizona Public Service Company (APS). She practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate and securities law. Baum also works with and manages the commercial renewable and employee benefits attorneys in the Pinnacle West law department.
Before joining Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, Baum worked as the Assistant General Counsel for Mobility Electronics, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona, focusing her practice on contracts, trademarks, international law and
other corporate matters. Before her employment with Mobility, Baum was an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Snell & Wilmer, LLP in their Business and Finance group. She also worked as a CPA for Deloitte & Touche LLP in its Phoenix, Arizona tax group prior to attending law school.
Baum is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona Board of Accountancy. She also serves on various boards of directors, including Teach for America, DrugFreeAz.org, the Homeless Legal Assistance Project and the Notre Dame Club of Phoenix.
Baum graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1995. She earned her law degree from the Arizona State University College of Law and joined the Arizona Bar in 2000.
Mr. Tom Ambrose 
Founding Chair
Tom Ambrose is the founding chair and a member of the board of directors of The Partnership for a Drug-Free America’s Arizona Affiliate. His leadership was instrumental in the establishment of the Arizona Chapter in 2003. Mr. Ambrose earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. His most treasured possessions? Friendships and family.
